Loop Communications will need the following information to setup your Autotask integration:
- A key (username) for your API user
- A secret (password) for your API user
Once you have the required information on hand, visit the CRM Integration page on our Customer portal and enter it into the fields provided. If you do not have access to modify your integration information, please reach out to our Support team. Instructions for setting up an API user in Autotask can be found below.
Please ensure that your browser of choice has pop-ups enabled for your Autotask URL. If this is not in place, when a call pop-up appears, it will route you to the main dashboard instead of populating caller information. Instructions to ensure this is in place for popular browsers can be found at the bottom of this page.

Creating an API User in Autotask
- Navigate to the Admin category on the left sidebar in your dashboard.
- Under Admin Categories, select Account Settings & Users
- Open the Resources/Users (HR) section, and select Resources/Users
-
Mouse over the dropdown next to the New button at the top left of the page, and select New API User
- Fill out the required fields following the screenshots below as a guide. The fields we will need to complete setup have been outlined in blue.
Once you generate the secret for the user, ensure to note it somewhere before saving the user. Once saved, it cannot be viewed without regenerating a new secret. Your username for this user can be custom but we strongly advise generating a random secret.
Ensure that Integration Vendor is checked, and select Loop Communications from the dropdown menu.
Once this is complete, save the user in the system, and provide us with the required information from this API User account!
Enabling Pop-ups
Google Chrome:
Navigate to Settings > Privacy and Security, and then click the "Site settings" option. Scroll down and then select "Pop-ups and redirects". From here, click the Add button next to "Allowed to send pop-ups and use redirects", and then add your Autotask URL to the list of allowed sites.
Firefox:
Navigate to Settings > Privacy & Security, and then find the Permissions section. Click "Exceptions..." next to the checkbox for blocking pop-up windows, and ensure your URL is present with a status of "Allowed".
