This feature allows a user to pair two Yealink WH6X headsets using Permanent Conference Mode. This allows the secondary headset (trainee) to join calls of the primary headset (trainer), so it can hear the audio of the call. Only the trainer's microphone will be active during these calls.
Preparing the Trainer's Headset
- Connect the trainer's headset base unit to a PC where Yealink USB Connect is installed. Yealink USB Connect software can be downloaded from the Yealink website.
- Launch Yealink USB Connect, and select the headset in question.
- Navigate to Device Settings > Advanced Settings.
- Enable the Permanent Conference Mode option. This will allow the trainee headset to remain connected to the trainer's base unit after each call.
(Note: if this option is not available, the headset may require a firmware upgrade to the latest version. Within Yealink USB Connect, select the headset device, then select Update Device.)

Connecting the Trainee Headset
To connect the trainee headset to the trainer's base:
- Turn off the trainee's headset by long-pressing the Call Control button for 3 seconds. When it turns off you will hear "Power off".
- Turn on the trainee's headset by long-pressing the Call Control button again for 3 seconds. When it turns on you will hear "Power on", and ensure you continue holding the button until you hear "Pairing mode". The headset will start flashing yellow indicating it's in pairing mode.
- On the trainer's base unit, long-press the PC button until it begins to blink green and white.
- Ensure the Trainer is earing their own headset, then place the trainee headset (while still in pairing mode) on the trainer's base unit.
- The trainer's headset will play a DING sound, then press the Call Control button on the trainer's headset to accept the secondary headset. The trainer's headset will play "New headset joined".
- Both headsets will now play the same audio, but ONLY the Trainer's microphone will be active.
Reconnecting the Trainee Headset to the Original Base
